Franklin Public schools is seeking, energetic, creative and innovative Middle School Computer Science Teacher. The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with a passion for encouraging and inspiring students to love learning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum, Planning, and Instruction Designs and delivers standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students. Collaborates with colleagues to develop curriculum, analyze student data, and ensure equitable, high-quality learning experiences. Uses a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies, materials, and technologies to promote student engagement and achievement. Learning Environment Establishes and maintains a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning, engagement, and positive behavior. Sets high expectations for student conduct and achievement while fostering student responsibility and ownership of learning. Assessment and Student Progress Uses ongoing assessment to monitor student learning, inform instruction, and communicate student progress in accordance with district expectations. Maintains accurate student records and documentation as required by district policy, state regulations, and applicable laws. Professional Responsibilities Implements district policies, procedures, and school expectations related to instruction, student conduct, and safety. Maintains open and productive communication with students, families, colleagues, and administrators. Demonstrates professionalism through continuous learning, collaboration, and reflection to improve instructional practice.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree Appropriate MA DESE subject license at the appropriate grade level (DLCS 5-12 certification) SEI Endorsement Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology Well-developed understanding of the subject matter and the pedagogy required to effectively teach the content area Excellent classroom management skills Ability to reflect on personal learning through the analysis of ones teaching practice, student learning data, and the teaching practices of others Ability to collaborate with all faculty & staff We understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideasan exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
