A Science Teacher teaches in the natural science fields for elementary to secondary school students. Most science courses taught prior to high school are general, with specialization occurring later in high school. Teachers may teach specialized courses in physics, biology or chemistry. Other topics taught include physical science, computer science, astronomy, and geology.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Middle School Teacher provides rigorous, subject-specific instruction for grades 6-8, fostering academic excellence and personal growth during a critical developmental stage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate subject-area endorsement (grades 6-8), or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of Education Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
