ABOUT GEE

POSITION SUMMARY
The Middle School Teacher provides rigorous, subject-specific instruction for grades 6-8, fostering academic excellence and personal growth during a critical developmental stage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate subject-area endorsement (grades 6-8), or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of Education Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application. Satisfactory criminal background check
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver aligned, differentiated instruction in the assigned subject area Use data and formative assessments to drive daily instructional decisions Implement tiered instructional supports to meet diverse learner needs Cultivate a disciplined, respectful, and academically focused classroom environment Coordinate planning within subject-area and grade-level teams Communicate student progress to families, counselors, and administrators Participate in professional development, collaborative planning, and staff meetings
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
