PT Instructor, Information Technology-Cyber Crime-Mosley Career Readiness Academy

DEFINITION

To provide classroom instruction to students through lecture, demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing in the area of Computer Security, Forensics, and Cyber Crime. •This position is for Face to Face instruction located at Mosley Career Readiness Academy•

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general and technical supervision from the Cyber Crime Program Director.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:

Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students. Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities; develop, and prepare supplemental materials to enhance textbook lessons. Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scores. Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands on experience as appropriate. Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and change; attend faculty meetings as required. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, and performance; maintain other records and databases according to program needs or accreditation requirements. Stay abreast of new developments, and changes in various academic fields; participate in staff development programs, workshops, seminars, and other continuing education programs as appropriate. Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area.

Other Important Functions:

Fill in for other instructors as needed. Teach day and evening courses. Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons; revise and improve lesson format; evaluate various texts book and select books to be used for future classes. Oversee and participate in the field studies and assignment; travel with students to provide assistance and instruction as appropriate. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Proficiency in Cyber Crime, Computer Security, and Computer Forensics. Relevant coursework in Network Attack Methods, Computer Forensics, and General Computer skills. Relevant coursework in Information Security, Computer Forensics, and General Computer skills. Classroom and laboratory instructional techniques and procedures. Principles and procedures of academic and instructional program development and administration in the area of assignment. Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment. Principles and procedures of record keeping. Principles and techniques involved in test development and administration. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

Ability To:

Interpret and apply college goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: . making observations . reading and writing . communicating with others . operating assigned equipment . handling varied tasks simultaneously. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: . standing or sitting for extended periods of time . operating assigned equipment . preparing and presenting instructional material. Maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of: . making sound decisions . responding to questions . demonstrating intellectual capabilities. Communicate clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Minimum Education/Training:

An Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or Cyber Crime from an accredited college or university or specialized training at the level required to meet SACS criteria for academic and professional preparation of the assigned area of instruction.

Minimum Experience :

No experience is required.

Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills :

One year in the IT industry specializing in Security or Cyber Crime. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or Cyber Crime.
