Job Overview:

At Evangel Christian Academy, we are a seeking passionate, dedicated math/science teacher who is called to educate our next generation. We have an opening for a 6th-8th grade math teacher who can also cover 6th-8th grade science and 9th grade biology. The largest class is 10 students. Our school offers 4-day work weeks, a positive culture, small class sizes, and an amazing student body with supportive families. We are looking for teachers who are willing to sow good spiritual and academic seeds in their students and are willing to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide guidance and support to help students achieve their academic goals. Evangel Christian Academy will support you in your endeavors by providing guidance, council, intervention, and, of course prayer.

Responsibilities:

• Pray daily for your students, classroom, colleagues, and school
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with Christian curriculum guidelines
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth spiritually and academically
• Assess student progress through various methods such as standardized tests, classroom tests, projects, and assignments
• Provide individualized attention and support to students who may require additional assistance
• Foster a love for learning by incorporating interactive activities and educational games into lessons
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for students
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress

Experience:

• Previous experience working with students in an educational or Church setting
• Strong knowledge of Christian curriculum development and instructional techniques
• Familiarity with preschool, special education, math education, English education, or history education is a plus but not required
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
• Experience working with children of various ages and backgrounds
• Understanding of childhood development principles

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level
