A Science Teacher teaches in the natural science fields for elementary to secondary school students. Most science courses taught prior to high school are general, with specialization occurring later in high school. Teachers may teach specialized courses in physics, biology or chemistry. Other topics taught include physical science, computer science, astronomy, and geology.
The Adjunct Emergency Response Operations (ERO) Instructor will provide instruction for courses? on a term-by-term basis, working days and possibly teaching online. This position reports to the Dean of Allied Health and Sciences. The Adjunct Instructor should have a main area of study such as an EMT, Firefighter (structure and/or wildland), or Criminal Justice or related field(s). Classes are offered during the daytime, online, and in the evening. Salary for courses taught by adjunct instructors is calculated by the type of instruction and the number of credits for the course. Lecture and lab courses are paid per credit hour based on the current Collective Bargaining Agreement for faculty.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Hold an EMT or Paramedic licensure and have DPSST certification in the subject area of instruction. Preferred; Hold a degree in the subject area or related area. Preferred; experience using Canvas and community college teaching experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking. Demonstration of appropriate techniques for EMTs and Firefighters in the lab and field.
