Duties Design and deliver engaging lessons in science and engineering topics, integrating educational technology to enhance learning experiences Develop comprehensive curricula aligned with educational standards, incorporating concepts such as biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and engineering principles Implement differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and cultural backgrounds, ensuring all students can succeed Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and project-based assessments Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional strategies to maintain high-quality education standards Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment conducive to inquiry and exploration Experience Proven experience teaching science or engineering at the middle or high school level in a classroom setting Strong background in STEM subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering and mathematics Science competition (such as Science Olympiad, USAPhO, etc.) coaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that aligns with educational regulations and standards Experience integrating learning technology tools into lesson plans for interactive instruction Skilled in laboratory techniques including dissection, research laboratory work, and scientific experimentation Familiarity with classroom management strategies for diverse student populations and working with students from various cultural backgrounds Prior experience with public school or private school environments Excellent communication skills for mentoring students, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging parents or guardians Compensation commensurate with experience Please note: this is a part-time/contract position. Classes are typically either one-on-one sessions or small group lessons. The new hire may teach 1-2 hours per week initially. Our classes are normally scheduled from 6:00am to 9:00am then from 4:30pm to 7:30pm US Eastern Time, Mon-Fri and possibly on weekends.
