Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Provide engaging, relevant instruction in computer science and technology courses that prepares students with practical technology skills, problem-solving abilities, and exposure to career opportunities in the computer science and information technology fields.
Teacher certification is not required for consideration.
Brownwood ISD will consider applicants with appropriate industry experience, education, technical skills, certifications, or other relevant professional experience.

Brownwood ISD will consider applicants with appropriate industry experience, education, technical skills, certifications, or other relevant professional experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required depending upon applicable experience and assignment
Texas teaching certificate in an appropriate area preferred but not required
Industry-based experience in computer science, information technology, programming, networking, cybersecurity, computer repair, or a related technology field will be considered
Industry certifications are preferred but not required
Experience working with students or providing training/instruction to others is a plus
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of computers and current technology
Ability to learn and teach assigned computer science/technology curriculum
Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish positive relationships with high school students
Willingness to learn effective classroom management and instructional practices
Ability to work collaboratively with campus and district staff
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instruction
Provide instruction in assigned high school computer science and technology courses.
Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with required curriculum and course standards.
Provide students with hands-on opportunities to apply computer science and technology concepts.
Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback, intervention, and support.
Maintain an organized, positive, and productive classroom environment.
Establish clear expectations for student behavior, participation, and responsible technology use.
Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
Participate in training and professional development necessary to successfully perform the instructional responsibilities of the position.
Work collaboratively with campus administration and other staff to support student success.
Campus Technology Support
Provide basic technical support to campus staff and students.
Assist with troubleshooting computers, devices, printers, software, classroom technology, and related equipment.
Assist with the setup, installation, maintenance, and inventory of campus technology.
Respond to campus technology needs and help resolve routine technical issues.
Communicate technology issues requiring additional assistance to appropriate district technology personnel.
Support the effective and responsible use of district technology resources.
Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.

Tools/Equipment Used:
Athletic equipment, standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, and other instructional equipment; automated external defibrillator (AED); operate school bus
Posture:
Prolonged standing; kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping; frequent driving; moderate grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and reaching
Motion:
Frequent walking and physical movements associated with sport(s) assigned
Lifting:
Frequently light lifting (less than 15 pounds); occasional moderate lifting or carrying (15-44 pounds)
Environment:
Work outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather) and inside; frequent exposure to noise; frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; moderate exposure to vehicle fumes and work around moving vehicles
