5-8 Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Future Scientists Instructor to lead a week-long STEM enrichment program for youth. The instructor will engage students through hands-on experiments, interactive demonstrations, and inquiry-based learning activities designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of science. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education and can create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, and discover. Responsibilities Plan and lead age-appropriate science lessons, experiments, and STEM activities. Introduce students to a variety of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Supervise students throughout the program and ensure a safe learning environment. Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, equipment, and experiment supplies. Adapt instruction to meet the needs and interests of diverse learners. Encourage teamwork, creativity, and scientific inquiry. Communicate professionally with program staff, parents, and guardians as needed. Qualifications Experience teaching science, STEM, or enrichment programs for youth. Background in science, education, engineering, or a related field preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to make scientific concepts engaging, accessible, and fun. Experience leading hands-on experiments and activities is highly desirable. Ability to pass any required background screening. Preferred Skills Experience with STEM camps, summer camps, after-school programs, or youth workshops. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures. Ability to inspire curiosity and excitement about scientific discovery. Experience developing engaging project-based learning activities.
