We're dedicated to providing engaging and enriching educational programs for children, supporting school districts with staffing solutions and innovative extracurricular activities. Our focus is on fostering social-emotional learning, creativity, and skill development through hands-on experiences and dynamic programming. Job Overview We are seeking afterschool chess coaches who have a passion for working with elementary age children. Our chess program is one of the largest enrichment programs in Strategic Kids and we're looking for individuals who want to contribute to our students and continue to bring quality to the program. Responsibilities Facilitate quality chess classes to the students we serve Take daily attendance classes taught Plan and facilitate end of session chess tournaments Apply yourself and master the curriculum Attend program meetings and special events Collaborate with other staff members to create inclusive activities that accommodate children with diverse needs, including those in special education or early childhood education programs Qualifications Experience working with elementary age students Knowledge of classroom management, behavior management strategies, and childhood development principles Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Knowledge and experience with Chess Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young learners Ability to manage groups effectively while maintaining a safe environment Ability to transport materials and supplies from school to school Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to stand for one hour blocks Join us in making a difference by leading chess classes that inspire kids to learn more about chess, develop new skills, and compete amongst each other.
