About L.A. Sports World L.A. Sports World provides movement-based enrichment programs for children throughout Los Angeles, including school programs, private groups, camps, birthday parties, and community events. Our approach is influenced by Montessori-style teaching principles and focuses on confidence, independence, coordination, exploration, and a positive relationship with movement. We are looking for warm, high-energy instructors who are exceptional with young children and know how to make a class feel fun, structured, and engaging. This role is especially well suited for candidates with experience in children's gyms, toddler programs, preschool enrichment, gymnastics, early childhood education, Mommy & Me programs, or similar environments. About the Role You will lead developmentally appropriate movement and enrichment classes primarily for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and young elementary-aged children. The focus is not competitive athletics. The focus is on engagement, movement, confidence, listening skills, coordination, age-appropriate challenges, and creating a positive class experience. We are especially interested in candidates who have worked in environments similar to My Gym, The Little Gym, Gymboree Play & Music, children's gymnastics programs, toddler enrichment programs, or other early childhood movement programs. Responsibilities Lead engaging movement and enrichment classes for young children Follow established LASW lesson plans and curriculum Use music, games, imagination, movement, and play to keep children engaged Adapt activities based on age, developmental level, attention span, and group dynamics Encourage independence and participation without forcing engagement Use positive redirection and age-appropriate group management Create smooth transitions between activities Introduce basic movement concepts such as balance, coordination, jumping, throwing, catching, spatial awareness, and body control Create a warm, encouraging, and inclusive environment Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and program staff Set up and break down program equipment Maintain a safe and organized activity space What We're Looking For Experience independently leading groups of toddlers, preschoolers, or young children High-energy personality with infectious positivity Warm, animated, playful, and encouraging presence Strong ability to capture and maintain young children's attention Comfortable following structured lesson plans and curriculum Able to adapt quickly when an activity is not working Strong group-management and communication skills Understanding of child development and age-appropriate expectations Dependable, punctual, and professional Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to program locations throughout Los Angeles Preferred Background We are especially interested in candidates with experience in: My Gym, The Little Gym, Gymboree, or similar programs Early childhood enrichment Preschool or daycare instruction Mommy & Me or parent-and-child classes Children's gymnastics Music and movement Dance or creative movement Camp programming Montessori, Reggio Emilia, play-based, or child-led environments Youth recreation or enrichment programs Schedule This is a flexible, part-time position with approximately 5-20 hours per week, depending on availability and program demand. Programs may take place during weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and school breaks. Compensation $20-$30 per hour, depending on experience and assignment type. There are opportunities for increased hours and advancement into lead instructor, curriculum, and program leadership roles.
