Job Description
Job Overview Instructor We are excited to announce a great opportunity for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team at The Art of STEM. The Art of STEM is a unique track out experience for elementary aged children year round that is developed and run by educators. It fosters socialization and creative thinking by providing stimulating activities that introduce rudimentary concepts of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through visual and performing arts activities. As an Instructor, you will work directly with campers, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere and leading children in planned activities. At The Art of STEM, we believe in supporting our dedicated staff with competitive pay, a supported work environment and a 10 to one ratio of children to staff. We are currently looking for a flex position, staff to work some mornings 8:15
- 1:00 and 1:00pm
- 4:30/5:30pm.
Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary aged children. Excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors. Leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their stay. Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers under their care. A patient and positive attitude. A reliable team player. Experience with STEM activities is a plus!Responsibilities:
Supervising children and keeping them safe. Leading children in various art, drama and stem related projects. Interacting with parents at drop off and pick up. Engaging with children during free play, outside, and during projects. Collaborating with fellow team members on planning and executing activities. Support and mediate any conflicts that arise among campers, promoting a harmonious atmosphere. Basic cleaning (wiping down surfaces, sweeping, organizing). Opening and closing duties.
