Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic USACO (USA Computing Olympiad) Competitive Programming Instructor to join our team on-site in Flushing, NY. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and mentor students passionate about competitive programming, algorithms, and problem-solving. As a key member of our educational staff, you will guide students through challenging coding competitions, foster their analytical thinking, and cultivate a love for computer science. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong background in programming competitions, along with excellent communication skills and a passion for teaching youth. Duties Design engaging lesson plans focused on algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving techniques aligned with USACO competition standards Instruct students in competitive programming concepts through hands-on coding exercises and mock contests Provide personalized feedback to help students improve their coding skills and problem-solving strategies Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and resilience during challenging tasks Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs Assist with organizing practice sessions, competitions, and team preparation for upcoming USACO contests Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress, goals, and areas for improvement Experience Proven experience in competitive programming, especially with USACO or similar coding olympiads Strong background in computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving techniques Prior teaching or coaching experience working with children or teenagers in academic or extracurricular settings Familiarity with sports-specific training instruction or coaching methods is a plus Experience working with students of varying skill levels and managing group dynamics effectively Knowledge of first aid procedures including CPR and AED operation is desirable but not mandatory Demonstrated leadership skills within team environments such as sports teams or coding clubs Join us to empower young programmers by sharing your expertise in a lively, motivating environment!
