Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 26-27 school year in Sterling, AK. This role offers the chance to provide specialized educational support to students across multiple locations, including Seward High and Moose Pass Elementary, as an itinerant Special Education Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Work closely with families, support staff, and other educators to foster a positive learning environment. Manage itinerant responsibilities efficiently across assigned schools.Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience teaching in special education settings, ideally at the middle and high school levels. Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Adaptability to work across different school sites.Location and Commitment:
Based in Sterling, Alaska. Full-time contract for the 2026-2027 school year. Itinerant role requiring travel between Seward High School and Moose Pass Elementary. While candidates open to travel assignments are welcome, preference will be given to those willing to relocate for a long-term teaching position.Benefits:
