Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on an impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a virtual school program operating from a district office near Pelham, AL. This role combines the innovation of virtual learning with the collaborative support of an on-site educational community. You'll work closely with the Special Education Director, making a difference for a small group of approximately seven students in need of personalized educational guidance.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid state teaching certification in Special Education Experience teaching in virtual or remote learning settings strongly preferred Competence in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with administrators, colleagues, and families Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment Background in small group or one-on-one instructional support Ability to work onsite at the district office as required

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to a caseload of about seven students enrolled in virtual school programs Develop and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance and student success Collaborate with the Special Education Director and other support staff in developing teaching strategies Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with district and state requirements Serve as a resource for students, helping them overcome educational challenges in a blended virtual setting Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment
