We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate educator to serve as both a Special Education Teacher and Special Needs Coordinator, ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive high-quality instruction, individualized support, and access to the resources they need to thrive. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a
Special Education Teacher:
Deliver Exceptional Instruction
  • Provide engaging, differentiated instruction that meets the needs of students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and diverse learning abilities. Develop & Implement IEPs
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and support staff to create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that drive student success. Support Student Growth
  • Use research-based strategies, assistive technology, and data-driven interventions to ensure academic and personal growth. Collaborate with General Education Teachers
  • Co-teach, provide modifications, and offer instructional strategies that promote an inclusive learning environment. Foster Self-Advocacy & Independence
  • Empower students to take ownership of their learning, develop confidence, and build essential life skills.
As a
Special Needs Coordinator:
Oversee Special Education Compliance
  • Ensure the school is meeting all legal and state-mandated requirements related to special education services. ‍ ‍ Serve as a Liaison
  • Act as a bridge between families, teachers, and outside service providers to ensure students receive the best possible support. Lead Professional Development
  • Train and coach teachers on best practices for differentiated instruction, inclusive strategies, and behavior management. Monitor & Evaluate Services
  • Assess the effectiveness of accommodations, interventions, and special education programs, making data-driven improvements as needed. Advocate for Resources & Support
  • Work with school leadership to secure funding, technology, and materials that enhance learning for students with disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
✔ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. ✔ Valid state certification/licensure in Special Education. ✔ Experience in individualized instruction, IEP development, and student support planning. ✔ Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements (IDEA, ADA, Section 504). ✔ Strong background in behavior management strategies, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices.
NICE TO-HAVES
Experience in a charter school or innovative education setting. Background in assistive technology, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), or behavior intervention strategies. Training in social-emotional learning (SEL) and trauma-informed practices. Familiarity with case management, progress monitoring tools, and intervention software. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or other languages).
