Overview We are seeking a passionate, dynamic Middle School English Teacher to inspire and engage 7th- and 8th-grade students. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles Develop and adapt instructional materials that promote literacy, critical thinking, creative writing, and analytical skills across English language arts and social sciences Utilize educational technology tools to create interactive lessons that enhance student understanding and participation Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely feedback and tailored support to meet individual needs Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a safe, respectful, and motivating learning environment Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional best practices, and school-wide initiatives Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming assessments or projects Support students preparing for standardized testing and Advanced Placement (AP) programs in English or related subjects Incorporate principles of special education and behavior management to support diverse learners, including those with unique learning needs Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching English language arts, educational technology integration, research methods, and curriculum innovation Experience Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students in English or related subjects such as social sciences or literacy education Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content using standards such as the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style guidelines Experience with instructional design, lesson planning, and implementing IT-integrated lessons in diverse classroom settings Strong skills in copy editing, proofreading, and supporting students' writing skills across various genres, including creative writing and journalism Familiarity with standardized testing preparation and academic advising for middle school learners Knowledge of learning technology tools, library services, research methodologies, and educational compliance regulations Experience working with teenagers in private or public school environments; Montessori or other specialized educational approaches are a plus Ability to adapt teaching strategies based on different learning styles while maintaining high standards of classroom management and organizational skills Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, mentoring new teachers, engaging parents, and supporting student success Join us to make a meaningful impact by nurturing young minds through innovative teaching practices.
