Job Description
The job of Guest Teacher is done for the purpose/s of improving general education students' success in the basic academics; serving as the education professional in lieu of a teacher. This job reports to the Principal.
Essential Functions:
Follow lesson plans provided by the assigned Teacher
Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation
Administer tests
Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria
Create classroom activities, assignments and/or materials, based on provided lesson plans;
Instruct students (whole class, small groups, or individuals)
Maintain classroom equipment, work area, students' files/records (e.g. clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.)
Provide documentation of students' work
Pespond to emergency situations (e.g. injured student, fights, etc.)
Experience:
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
Education:
High School diploma or GED. Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area preferred.
Requirements:
Pre-employment Proficiency testing
Ability to obtain a Substitute Teaching Certificate or an Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate issued by Arizona Department of Education Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance.
This is a 10-month position only.
