Multiple openings are available for passionate professionals to engage with high school learners in life skills/transition and structured intensive support classrooms, with a priority on individuals located within a 30-minute commute of district sites such as Fairfax, Central, and Hayden.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License Current K-12 Special Education Certification IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Experience teaching students with emotional disabilities and/or those facing challenges with prosocial and self-regulatory skills Familiarity with exceptional, at-risk, ethnically diverse, and limited English proficient student populations Demonstrated skill developing and implementing special services that adhere to federal, state, and district regulations Willingness to complete Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training if not already certified Previous work in inclusion, functional academics, self-contained behavior classrooms, or autism-focused environments is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and support within Inclusion/SUCCESS (approx. 25 students), Practical academics (approx. 16 students), Life Skills/CBT (approx. 14 students), or STRIVE/Autism (6-8 students) classrooms Create and adapt lessons to match a variety of cognitive, developmental, and behavioral needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary district teams to develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs) Foster environments that nurture self-regulation and social development Attend mandatory orientation and in-service dates in July, and maintain a full-time onsite schedule throughout the academic year This is an onsite-only opportunity to work within a committed district, making a real difference day-to-day.
