Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic K-6 resource classroom! This full-time contract opportunity, based near Chandler, AZ, offers the chance to work with a diverse group of young learners, providing targeted instruction and advocacy to help each child thrive.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
State certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification) Experience teaching or supporting students in a resource or inclusive setting, especially with K-6 grade levels Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, school staff, and related service professionals Ability to craft and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Creative, patient, and solution-oriented approach to working with students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction in small group and individualized settings aligned with students' IEPs Track and document student progress, adapting instruction and interventions as needed Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' participation in the wider school community Engage families and guardians regularly to communicate progress and foster ongoing support Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement, independence, and confidence Support compliance with all district and state regulations regarding special education
