Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Educate young patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive dental care strategies. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems is Open Dental), documenting treatment details, medical records, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly. Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment compliant with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, dental terminology, anatomy relevant to children, and medical terminology. Experience with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and excellent client communication skills. Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical assessment, and documentation review accurately. Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment.
