Special Education Teacher (Resource) - School-Based | 2026-2027 School Year High School Resource Setting | Full-Time ?? El Mirage, AZ ??
Start Date:
August 31, 2026 ? 40 Hours Per Week ?? 36-Week Contract ? 1 Opening Available Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a high school team in El Mirage, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity to support students in a resource classroom setting while partnering with educators, families, and support staff to help students achieve both academic and personal success. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments, delivering individualized instruction, and helping students build the skills and confidence needed to reach their goals. Key Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services. + Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers. + Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs. + Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records. + Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. + Foster a positive and supportive resource classroom environment. + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. + Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations. + Special Education Teaching Certification preferred and may be required by the district. + Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred. + Current CPR certification, if applicable. + TB questionnaire, PPD , or chest X-ray, if applicable. + Current health certificate, if required. + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Compliance with all professional standards of practice.
