- We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
- Special Education Teacher
- to join a year-round Behavioral Health Residential Treatment program serving children and adolescents.
This unique opportunity allows educators to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students who require specialized educational and behavioral support within a residential setting. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides quality educational services to special education students while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized learning programs.
- Position Responsibilities
- + Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
+ Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational programming.
+ Collaborate with support staff, paraprofessionals, and behavioral health professionals.
+ Participate in team planning and implementation of student programs.
+ Provide tutorial assistance and consultation with educational staff.
+ Maintain compliance with all applicable educational standards and regulations.
+ Foster a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
- Assignment Details
- + Self-contained classroom environment + Teacher supported by one Direct Care Professional (Paraprofessional) + Year-round assignment + Residential treatment setting where students live on campus + Opportunity to support students with emotional, behavioral, and educational needs
- Qualifications
- Required
- + Valid State Teaching Certificate as required by state and district regulations + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age + Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Preferred
- + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university + Minimum one year of teaching experience + Standard Elementary Teaching Certification + Standard Secondary Teaching Certification + Standard Special Education Teaching Certification + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement
- Additional Requirements
- + Current CPR Certification (if applicable) + Current Health Certificate (if applicable) + TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-ray (if applicable)
