IDEA Compliance Coach / Resource Teacher
Reports To:
Director of Exceptional Student Services and Principal
Qualifications
Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
Special education classroom teaching experience preferred
Mentoring or instructional coaching experience preferred
Knowledge of
IDEA, IEP
development, and special education compliance
Position Overview
The IDEA Compliance Coach/Resource Teacher is a split position that provides direct special education services to students while supporting special education staff with IDEA compliance, IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective instructional practices.
Essential Duties
Provide specially designed instruction to students based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Manage an assigned special education caseload, including developing, implementing, and monitoring compliant IEPs.
Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain required special education documentation.
Monitor student progress and report progress toward IEP goals.
Collaborate with general education teachers, families, related service providers, and school staff to support student needs.
Coach and support special education teachers with IEP development, goal writing, progress monitoring, and IDEA compliance.
Model effective special education instructional strategies and provide guidance on accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction.
Support teachers with district special education procedures and required timelines.
Assist with alternate assessment planning and implementation.
Provide professional learning and individualized coaching based on staff needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
