9682919-94704 Job Description If youre passionate about empowering students with visual impairments and ready for a rewarding contract opportunity in the Bay Area, this role offers an engaging environment to make a meaningful impact. This position, based on-site and working directly with schools near Berkeley and San Francisco, is well suited to a dedicated Visually Impaired Teacher seeking an itinerant schedule. Youll join a collaborative educational community committed to supporting diverse learners. What makes you an ideal fit: A valid California teaching credential with a Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, preferably in school settings Strong ability to adapt instructional methods to meet a variety of student needs Comfort working independently and travelling across multiple school locations Excellent communication skills to collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and families Commitment to providing equitable educational access and promoting student independence Your responsibilities will include: Delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across different campuses in an itinerant, on-site capacity Conducting assessments to determine students functional vision and learning needs Designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) specific to visual impairment Supporting classroom teachers with accommodations, materials, and best practices for accessibility Consulting with families on strategies to reinforce learning at home Maintaining thorough documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and district regulations Contract dates are October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027. This full-time, 35-hour per week assignment offers a competitive pay structure of $70$74 per hour.
