Position Overview As an Instructor, you will provide direct support in the day program working with individuals with mild to profound developmental disabilities. You will engage with our population through daily activities and supporting individualized goals that foster independence, skill development, and meaningful interaction. In this role, you will collaborate with other staff to support our clients in building daily living skills and providing care based on their needs. Essential Functions include, but are not Limited to: Organize daily activities and instruct, plan, and motivate program participant. Ensure provision of consumer care and supervision, including communication. Develop and follow individual schedules/goals to ensure that program and individual goals are implemented. Ensure that participants who are incontinent remain clean and dry at all times. Monitor hydration and nutrition for participants appropriate to their needs and ensuring safety on what they consume. Plan and schedule community integration activities and outings. Ensure that the least restrictive method of instruction is used and ensures that each participants rights are safeguarded. Report any witnessed, suspected, or reported consumer abuse or neglect under the mandated reporter requirements. Uphold the safety and welfare of participants and report any accidents, incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to management. Other functions as assigned to ensure the agency standards, practices, policies and procedures are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). One (1) year experience in a closely related field. Must hold a valid California Driver's License.
Additional Preferred:
Experience working with Adults with Developmental Disabilities.
Compensation and Schedule:
$23-$25 per hour 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Good manual dexterity for assisting participants and completing program tasks. Safely supervise and support participants during community activities.
