We at Ro Health are currently looking for passionate individuals who have the desire to help children thrive to the best of their abilities while in school as a Special Education Teacher (mod/severe credential). As a Special Education Teacher, you would work at school districts in the San Diego/South Bay/ Chula Vista CA area. This would be a full-time position to support primarily with student assessments and IEP's. Position Overview Special Education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, from math to English, in a way that is easier to understand for students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities. They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities. The focus for this position specifically is to complete assessments and building/participating in student IEP's.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
May include but not limited to: Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans Help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals Plan, organize, and assign activities specific student abilities Assess students' performance and progress periodically Discuss student's progress with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators Comply will all company policies and applicable laws Handles all other duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills
REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree - no specific major Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mod/Severe Certification) Prior experience working with special needs students in classroom settings Experience with assessments and IEP's Comfortable with toileting support
