Send job Job Details Job DescriptionJob Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make an impact by supporting students with high behavioral needs in an Intensive Learning Center setting. This full-time, contract opportunity places you onsite at a supportive educational environment working with a self-contained caseload. The school welcomes applicants with pending licensure, as long as New Mexico licensure can be obtained. Responsibilities include providing individualized instruction, developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with related service providers, and maintaining a positive, structured classroom for students who benefit from intensive supports. Creative problem-solvers who thrive in dynamic situations will excel in this role, as you guide students' growth both academically and behaviorally.
Key Qualifications:
Valid or pending New Mexico Special Education Teacher licensure Previous experience with high behavioral needs or self-contained classrooms preferred Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, administration, and families Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to positive behavioral support
Primary Duties:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with intensive learning needs Create and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student Collaborate closely with related service providers and support staff to maximize student progress Promote a safe and supportive classroom environment, utilizing proactive behavioral strategies Maintain compliance with all required documentation, reporting, and timelines This rewarding position allows educators to make a profound difference for students who need it most.
