Key Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement. Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, preferably in a school setting. Demonstrated expertise in adapting curriculum and instruction for students with visual impairments. Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with school teams, students, and families. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student-centered educational practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments on an itinerant, on-site basis. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs. Advise and coach classroom teachers and support personnel on accommodations and adaptive strategies. Utilize a variety of assistive technologies and instructional materials. Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with district and state requirements. Act as a liaison between school staff, students, and families to ensure a supportive learning environment.
