Key Qualifications:

Must hold a valid California TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) license Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting Skilled in assessing student needs, developing and implementing IEPs, and providing required evaluations Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and other specialists Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working on-site and integrating into a diverse school community

Responsibilities:

Develop, adapt, and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of a visually impaired student Conduct evaluations, track progress, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide resources, recommendations, and hands-on support for classroom teachers to foster an accessible learning environment Serve as an advocate for the student, ensuring accommodations and modifications are in place for full participation in school activities Liaise with families and school staff to promote the students academic and social success Remain current with best practices, strategies, and tools for visual impairment education
