ABOUT THE ROLE
LiriCare is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students at a school in El Cerrito, California . This is a fully in-person, school-based position supporting students with individualized learning needs. The assignment includes a caseload capped at approximately 28 students . You'll work closely with students, general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to provide individualized instruction, implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and help students make meaningful academic and developmental gains.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies based on individual student needs Monitor academic, behavioral, and functional progress Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and school teams Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports as outlined in student plans Support an inclusive and structured learning environment Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Special Education, or a related field Active California Special Education teaching credential English Learner (EL) Authorization Ability to work full-time and in person in El Cerrito, California Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Understanding of California special education requirements and practices Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs preferred Ability to complete all school-required background checks and onboarding requirements

This is an opportunity to work directly with students in a school-based setting while maintaining a manageable caseload capped at approximately 28 students . The position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary school teams, and provide individualized support that helps students progress academically, socially, and functionally.
