This role focuses on working with a classroom of 17 students in grades 3 through 5, where youll make a lasting impact through specialized instruction and positive behavior support. Hours are 7:30 AM-2:45 PM with a 30-minute lunch, providing a consistent weekday routine. Ideal candidates will bring experience supporting students with moderate to severe needs and are comfortable implementing proven behavioral strategies. This extended substitute position is set to start as soon as possible and runs through December, with the potential for extension.

Key Qualifications:

Active Special Education teaching credential Demonstrated experience with elementary-aged students, ideally grades 35 Strong background in behavior management, including work with moderate/severe exceptionalities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Flexibility and a proactive, student-centered mindset

Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with students IEPs Effectively manage and positively redirect challenging behaviors using evidence-based interventions Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with support staff, paraprofessionals, and families to maximize student growth Track progress and maintain accurate educational records Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed This position offers pay beginning at $38 per hour (or more, commensurate with experience), underscoring the value of passionate professionals in inclusive education.
