Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school setting! Two contract opportunities are available for dedicated educators to work with students in grades K-2 and K-5, focusing on mild to moderate needs. This full-time role is based in the San Mateo, CA, area, with an immediate start through the end of the school year.

Key Qualifications:

Active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential (required) Experience or strong interest in supporting students with diverse learning needs in a school environment Ability to tailor instruction and interventions for individual education plans (IEPs) Effective communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams Enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable approach to daily challenges

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support for a caseload of students in either K-2 or K-5th, covering a range of special education needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and services Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom environment Engage in ongoing communication and partnership with parents, general education staff, and related service providers Collect data and maintain thorough documentation to measure student progress and inform instructional decisions
