A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

As an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (ECSE) supporting Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Pre-K students in the Northern California Region, you'll play a critical role in building strong foundations for young learners with diverse developmental and educational needs.
Your days will include:
Providing specialized instruction to TK and Pre-K students with varying learning needs. Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Supporting students' academic, social-emotional, communication, and developmental growth. Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Assessing student progress and adjusting instructional strategies to promote student success. Implementing accommodations, modifications, and positive behavior supports. Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA, California regulations, and district policies.

2026-2027 Qualifications Active California Education Specialist Credential (or eligibility). Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
