Los Angeles, CA Job Description A school district in Los Angeles, California is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) for a fulltime, schoolbased contract . This position serves K12 students and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with ongoing professional and administrative support. Responsibilities Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with mild to moderate disabilities Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and California state regulations Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet individual student needs Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction based on IEP goals Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings while ensuring procedural compliance Serve as a case manager for assigned students as needed Maintain accurate documentation and student records Support a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment Qualifications Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs) required Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) required English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent) required Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates Education Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field Experience Previous schoolbased or special education experience preferred Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams Excellent organizational and documentation abilities Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills Commitment to supporting diverse student populations Work Hours MondayFriday 8:00 AM 3:30 PM Approximately 3740 hours per week Compensation & Benefits This contract position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Weekly pay Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and credentials Medical, dental, and vision insurance options 401(k) retirement plan options Ongoing clinical and administrative support throughout the assignment Professional development and continuing education resources Opportunity for contract renewal or extension Housing and travel assistance for eligible candidates Equal Opportunity Employment All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
