Job Description

Ignite a positive impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in beautiful Siskiyou County, CA. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated educator passionate about supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities. You'll work on site (with potential consideration for virtual/online participation), ensuring individualized instruction tailored to each learner. As a valued member of the academic community, you'll manage a caseload of 28 or fewer students, collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your expertise will help shape accessible educational experiences that empower every child to reach their full potential.
Desired qualifications:
Holds valid Special Education Teacher credentials (California certification or ability to obtain) Demonstrated experience (or strong training) working with mild to moderate student needs in school settings Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance Effective written and verbal communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Tech-savvy, with openness to virtual/online instruction if needed In this role, you will: Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and supports for students within your caseload Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in alignment with district and state requirements Participate actively in IEP meetings and ongoing parent communication Contribute positively to a respectful, inclusive school culture This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) provides the chance to work in a supportive environment, serving an engaged student community and making a tangible difference in Siskiyou County.
