CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE
Burlington English, Inc. is seeking a skilled trainer to join the nationwide workforce. We are looking for a team player who will be responsible for planning and facilitating client training and professional development in the Central Coast area with the willingness to work in other areas as the business continues to grow. The ideal candidate is an early adopter of technology with an ability to quickly build relationships with all levels of educational staff. This role requires someone with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. English teaching background is an advantage although quick learners from other backgrounds with a strong desire to transition into training and professional development for an educational software publisher will be considered. This position is a home-based position covering the Central Coast, CA and other states as needed. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and the legal right to work in the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare for and facilitate one-to-one, small group, and large-scale training at the school and district levels. Build relationships with teachers, administrators, and other educational staff and expand customer base. Communicate all pertinent information and report on account status and needs to the Customer Manager. Complete paperwork and input data into the Company database as needed (visits, emails, etc.). Execute training vision and plan for clients in the area. Attend Company and regional meetings and conferences from time to time. Stay up to date and informed on the Burlington English products, as well as on initiatives and directives affecting the market. Assist with training in other regions when needed. Travel up 40% to 60% of the time depending on needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant training/experience. Pertinent job experience with a preference for experience in the field of education - e.g., teaching background (ESL preferred) - or equivalent/pertinent experience as a professional in an educational sales Company or educational organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of developing and delivering astute informational/promotional presentations. Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize database programs and conduct research on the Internet. Exceptional listener who "thinks on their feet" and is skillful at communicating professionally on a wide variety of subjects to the general public and those served by the Company. Knowledge of standard business practices and procedures. Highly ethical. Must be able to travel up to 60% primarily by car (
  • provided by the Company) within a specified Region and work weekends if/when required.
Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments with attention to detail. Able to effectively analyze situations related to educational/training issues, contracts, and a variety of other business matters and present proposed solutions. Track record of managing confidential information appropriately. Polished professional appearance and demeanor. Dependable and detail oriented.
Desirable:
Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) Able to read/write/speak fluently.
