What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Moderate/Servere Position Type:
Multiple school sites openings. Will be only working at one school siteGrade Levels:
Elementary (varies by site and classroom)Caseload:
Maximum of 14 students, with most classrooms serving approximately 11 students Interview will be held virtually Qualifications Valid California Education Specialist Credential Bachelor's degree or higher CTC Certificate of Clearance (Mod/Sev) Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Experience with special education assessments and data Strong classroom management skills Ability to differentiate instruction Knowledge of behavior-support strategies Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working with students with disabilities preferred Commitment to inclusive and supportive learning environments 3 professional references Pay Up to $68.00 per hour (based on experience) Up to $2,550 per week (based on experience) Responsibilities Develop and implement IEPs Provide specialized instruction Monitor and document student progress Adapt lessons to meet individual needs Manage classroom behavior and supports Collaborate with general education teachers Communicate with parents and families Participate in IEP meetings Maintain accurate student records Use data to guide instruction Collaborate with related service providers Support student academic and social growth When You Work withClub Xcite, You Enjoy:
