This contract position is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting students with moderate to severe needs, particularly those with challenging behaviors. You'll play a crucial role in fostering growth, learning, and confidence in each child, using your expertise to create a supportive and inclusive environment. The school day runs from 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break for you to recharge. Your assignment will begin as soon as possible and run through December, with the potential for extension. Step into this extended substitute role and make a meaningful impact from your first dayall while earning $38 or more per hour, commensurate with your experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching Credential Proven history working with students exhibiting moderate to severe behavioral challenges Familiarity with classroom management strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs) Compassionate, adaptable, and skilled in building rapport with elementary-age children Ability to maintain professionalism and flexibility within a dynamic school environment
Role Responsibilities:
Lead a class of 17 students, implementing differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs Manage behavior proactively using evidence-based strategies Develop and follow IEP goals, tracking progress and communicating needs with staff and families Collaborate effectively with support staff, administration, and specialists Foster an encouraging, safe, and engaging classroom climate Help elementary students succeed and growbring your experience and enthusiasm for special education to this community.
