Job Description

Bring your expertise in supporting students with visual impairments to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting learners in an educational setting near Riverside, CA. As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll play a crucial role in helping students achieve their fullest potential by tailoring instruction to their unique needs, fostering independence, and collaborating with a collaborative and supportive educational team. This full-time, full school year assignment allows you to make a lasting impact throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Valid, active state teaching credential with appropriate endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments Proven experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired, including developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong ability to modify curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers Commitment to fostering independence and inclusion for all students
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in the classroom and one-on-one settings Adapt or create learning materials using Braille, large print, or other accessible formats Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute insights to multidisciplinary IEP teams Consult regularly with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and student success Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain best practices in vision services Partner with families to support learning goals and adaptive strategies You'll appreciate the stability of a full-year contract and the chance to build strong relationships with students and staff.
