Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Arts Degree from an accredited college or university Appropriate California Credential
CLAD/BCLAD
Credential Experience with at-risk youth and/or alternative schooling Ability to interact with and maintain cooperative relationships with all levels of staff and the public Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing Copy of Transcript (Must Show Confer Date) Credential Copy (California, CLAD/BCLAD) Letter of Introduction Resume Requirements /

Training in Essential Elements of Instruction Training in Behavior Management Knowledge of and experience in the use of latest technological equipment and materials Experience in developing individualized instructional packets Bilingual (Spanish/English) Ability to deal effectively with verbal abuse, physical threats
Independent Study Caseload:
In addition to providing specialized academic instruction and case management services to students with disabilities, the teacher will maintain an assigned general education Independent Study caseload. Responsibilities may include developing and assigning standards-aligned coursework, conducting regularly scheduled student-teacher meetings, monitoring academic progress and engagement, evaluating completed work, maintaining required Independent Study documentation, and supporting students toward completion of graduation and/or program requirements.
Itinerant Assignment/Travel:
This is an itinerant assignment that may serve multiple Alternative Education programs, school sites, and locations. The employee may be required to travel between MCOE sites and other designated instructional locations within Monterey County to provide instruction, case management, student support, consultation, and other assigned services. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as required by the assignment are necessary. Applicants requiring a reasonable accommodation for the interview or testing process must notify Human Resources three business days prior to an interview or testing date. Accommodations will be provided in accordance with ADA requirements. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a CTC-approved agency to determine the equivalent U.S. degree and major, and the Foreign Transcript Evaluation must be attached to your application before your application will be considered.
