Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. Work within a community that values inclusive education and empowers every learner. In this on-site itinerant position, youll serve students throughout the San Francisco area, adapting curriculum and providing vital guidance from October 12, 2026 through June 4, 2027. Expect a 35-hour workweek, collaborating with faculty and families to deliver accessible education. Compensation ranges from $70 to $74 per hour, ensuring your expertise is recognized.
Qualifications/Experience:
Valid California teaching credential with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement Demonstrated experience working with students who have visual impairments Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille, and tactile materials for instruction Excellent communication skills for working closely with diverse teams, families, and specialists Previous experience in a school-based or itinerant educational setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites (itinerant model) Assess each students individual needs, design IEP goals, and track progress Integrate assistive technology and adaptive materials to facilitate student access and independence Participate in IEP meetings and consult with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support Mentor teachers and staff, providing strategies for accessibility and inclusion in the classroom environment
