Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire educational growth by supporting students as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired in an itinerant role, working on-site with a leading district near the San Mateo area. With your passion and expertise, you'll collaborate with faculty and families, helping students achieve success and independence during the academic year from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027. Utilizing your specialized knowledge, you'll deliver essential instruction and vision-related support across multiple school locations, ensuring every student receives personalized and impactful educational experiences.
Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required) Experience working with students who are visually impaired in school settings Comfortable traveling between locations as an itinerant teacher Clear communication and organizational skills for collaboration with faculty, families, and related services personnel Commitment to empowering students and adapting curriculum to meet diverse vision needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and adapt educational materials for K-12 students with visual impairments Assess student needs, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Partner with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion Offer guidance on assistive technology and accommodations Advocate for students' educational and social-emotional needs Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district requirements This contract opportunity is fully on-site, offering a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours.
