9682919-94403 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Visually Impaired Teacher for a respected school system in the Bay Area. This full-time, contract role runs from October 12, 2026, to June 4, 2027, providing essential support to students with visual impairments. You'll work onsite in an itinerant capacity, connecting with various learners and supporting them across developmental and academic goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement required Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school setting, preferably with an itinerant caseload Strong knowledge of current best practices, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for visually impaired students Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, families, and multi-disciplinary teams Excellent organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, tailoring instruction to individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide consultation and training to educational teams regarding accommodations, modifications, and adaptive strategies Assess students functional vision and learning needs, recommending appropriate classroom adaptations Facilitate integration and participation of students in all aspects of school life Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies Travel within the district to serve students at multiple school sites as needed In this role, youll be part of an inclusive and collaborative school environment focused on empowering each student.
