Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators who share your commitment to inclusive learning. You'll use your specialized skills and strategies to foster engagement and academic progress, promoting both language development and self-advocacy. Your knowledge will help ensure that learners access the curriculum through accommodating and individualized methodologies.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent state credentials Demonstrated experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting Strong understanding of Deaf culture, American Sign Language, and assistive technology Ability to adapt lessons and materials for diverse student needs Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, parents, and students
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver individualized lessons and accommodations based on student IEPs Support student participation in general education settings through consultation and direct instruction Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure access and equity for all students Monitor and track student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction Provide professional development and resources for school staff on Deaf/Hard of Hearing topics Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families
