9683050-90503 Job Description Shape the future for middle school students as a dedicated professional supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners in a vibrant, inclusive educational environment near Torrance, CA. In this contract role, you'll work with grades 68, providing essential instruction and advocacy to empower students and ensure their academic growth. Your expertise and compassion will help foster communication skills and confidence, enriching the learning experience for each child.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university required Valid California Education Specialist Instruction credential (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Strong instructional and conversational signing skills Committed to working onsite, supporting grades 68 Passion for fostering inclusive educational settings
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a middle school environment Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement IEP goals and promote student success Facilitate communication and language development using signing and other modalities Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings Provide advocacy and mentorship, empowering students to become confident self-advocates Support a positive classroom atmosphere that respects each learners unique needs This full-time opportunity (37 hours weekly, MondayFriday, 7:00 am3:00 pm) is fully onsite and suited to educators seeking to make a lasting impact within a supportive school community.
