Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive educational community near Aurora, CO. This full-time assignment spans the school year, starting August 11 and ending May 21, at a vibrant high school dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all students. Applicants must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education (SPED) License with a Generalist Endorsement. Only candidates with a professional teacher license (endorsed in Special Education Generalist, ages 5-21) or proof of a pending endorsement application will be considered. This position is fully on-site; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
Qualifications:
Colorado Professional Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement Documentation proving application for proper licensure, if endorsement is pending Substantial classroom teaching experience in special education Proficiency with IEP processes, including drafting, implementation, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams Deep understanding of Specially Designed Instruction, alternative standards, and evidence-based instructional strategies
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with varying abilities, using research-based practices Create, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance and collaboration with the IEP team Develop differentiated lessons and accommodations tailored to student needs Work in close partnership with general educators, support staff, and families to support student learning and growth Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing communication with stakeholders Bring your expertise in special education to a dynamic, student-focused high school.
