Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with significant support needs at an elementary school near Aurora, CO. This onsite position calls for a dedicated educator ready to make a meaningful impact from August 20, 2026, through June 3, 2027. Enjoy a condensed workweek34 hours over four days (Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm), and benefit from having every Monday off.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education licensure required Experience working with students who have significant support needs, preferably in elementary settings Strong collaborative skills; able to work effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Ability to adapt instruction and support to diverse learning needs Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement individualized education programs for students with significant support needs at the elementary level Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed Collaborate with related service providers and school staff to ensure students' needs are met Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements Act as a positive advocate for students and families, promoting student growth and independence This school-based role offers consistent daytime hours across a friendly four-day workweek, enabling a positive work-life balance.
