With one dedicated site assignment, youll serve as a full-time Special Education Teacher focused on Affective Needs for the current academic year. This position provides the chance to make a lasting impact by implementing effective teaching strategies and evidence-based behavioral supports for students requiring a continuum of services. Required Skills and Experience Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (ages 5-21) Strong understanding of special education compliance, IEP development, and individualized instruction Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities and/or autism is highly valued Familiarity with behavioral evaluation tools and interventions (FBAs, ABA, etc.) is a significant advantage Comfortable working in a collaborative, school-based team environment Key Responsibilities Develop and implement tailored educational plans for students with affective needs Conduct appropriate assessments and collaborate on behavior intervention strategies Deliver instruction and support to middle school students in classroom and small group settings Maintain clear documentation aligned with district procedures and student goals Communicate progress with parents, teachers, and support staff regularly Participate in team meetings, professional development, and required trainings What Sets This Opportunity Apart Consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours a week Focused assignment at one middle school campus Supportive environment committed to developing positive outcomes for students with unique learning profiles Opportunity to expand your skills in behavioral assessment and intervention Time-sensitive credentialingget started quickly once district paperwork is completed Take your passion for special education to the next level.
