Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding position making a real difference in middle school education serving students in special education. This full-time contract opportunity runs from February 2024 through May 2024 and offers a dedicated on-site environment—not open to remote or hybrid arrangements. The assignment requires a deep commitment to instructional excellence and student growth, with a focus on middle-grade learners.
Qualifications:
Valid Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) required (no substitute, temporary, or interim licenses unless official application and proof of endorsement are provided).
License must read:
"Professional Teacher License #000000,
Endorsed In:
Special Education Generalist (5-21)". Demonstrated expertise in crafting and implementing differentiated instruction and specially designed instruction. Thorough understanding of the IEP process—able to actively participate, develop, and implement goals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Relevant experience supporting students on alternative standards. Strong background using effective teaching strategies and instructional practices for diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
Design, adapt, and deliver comprehensive lessons that meet both individual education plans and school curriculum goals. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods based on assessment data and student needs. Actively participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal setting, and communicate with parents and professionals. Foster an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
