This contract role offers the rewarding opportunity to champion accessibility and foster communication skills for learners who are deaf or hard of hearing, working alongside educators and families to ensure each student's success.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

Valid teaching license or certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education Proven experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ideally in school settings Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other modes of communication appropriate for students Strong understanding of current best practices in deaf education and accommodations Compassionate and patient approach to supporting diverse student needs Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with school staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to maximize accessibility and inclusion Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure students are fully supported Offer guidance and resources to staff and families regarding deaf/hard of hearing education and advocacy Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed Perks of this
